Hi everyone,
Sorry for no update in June. I hope you're all enjoying a nice summer. The weather in Michigan has been beautiful, with sunny days, low humidity and rain during the evenings!
Storkly Speaking: First off, I'm happy to welcome another Kelly into the family. My sister Maureen and her husband Mike welcomed Andrew Joseph Guinta on May 17.
Broadway News: It was fun on the night of the Tonys to root for "The Lieutenant of Inishmore." Brian d'Arcy James (Harry's grandson) was a member of the cast. It was nominated for six awards, including Best Play. But later this summer, you can catch Brian on Broadway with Keith Carradine in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."
Lansing Tour Guides Send Thank You Note: My son attended his fourth grade trip to Michigan's capitol building in Lansing and had his picture taken in front of Harry Kelly's portrait. The tour guide noticed and told the kids the story of Harry's WWI heroics. My wife then told him about our site. A few weeks later he wrote Patrice a nice note of thanks for the site. He informed her that all the information via Harry's daughters, Joanne and Mary, has become required reading for all the capitol tour guides!
Input Needed! So what else would you like to see on this site? How often do you check it out? I know there are many of you that don't mind reading these updates (or if you DO mind please let me know and I'll drop you from the list!). But if you've got some ideas or have some favorite parts your input would be appreciated!
Anecdotes: My sister Katie suggested having a special spot on the site for anecdotes about our relatives--a collection of great Kelly stories. I've added a form that will allow you to send along a quick anecdote whenever you've got a chance. Here's a link to the Kelly Stories Form that will allow you to quickly input a story!
Kids' Pages: Please let your kids or grandkids have fun with their own web pages on this site. Send along any photos, stories, artwork. My daughter Abby is constantly updating her page with recent photos of her friends (and her newest kitten--Sugar) and my nephew James has some of nice drawings of his favorite amusement park rides.
Thanks again for your interest and input. Happy Birthday this very day to Harry's grandson David and to Maggie (David's niece, Elizabeth's one year-old daughter). Here's a list of June and July Kelly Birthdays including my sister Katie's on her 40th!.
