Kevin attended Clawson High School and was an exchange student to Switzerland in the summer of 1982. He began teaching high school English in the Fall of 1987 after graduation. But what really got him hired was his part-time campus job in the AV department, because Royal Oak Dondero High School needed a teacher to create a class for its new television studio. So for the next thirteen years he taught literature, writing and video productions.

In 2000 he made the tough choice to leave his tenure and job security to kick-start a full-fledged video productions program at West Bloomfield High School. Click here for a newspaper article on the class.

He and Patrice met at Dondero High School as she was doing her student teaching. After three weeks of dating they became engaged and married seven months later on the Fourth of July. On their third anniversary, at 1AM, Aidan was born. Two summers later, Abby came along in time to see her Grandpa Jim for five weeks before his untimely death.

Kevin has Patrice and her family to thank for his new love of camping, woodworking and an ability to deal with large family get-togethers, since Patrice is the youngest of eight!

They live in a great neighborhood of Royal Oak with plenty of parks nearby and two cats, Dude and Tiger, trying endlessly to escape into that neighborhood.
