"My uncle Jerry (Jerry Kelly, Jr.) was an extremely gentle man who loved people and animals. He would get up early every morning, no matter the weather, and go approx. half a mile to the entrance of the neighborhood that he and my grandparents lived in and raise the American flag; and repeat the trip every evening to lower the flag. He was recognized by many for his patriotism and civic responsibility.

"He could see something, once, and then go home and paint it, even down to the shadows.I remember that when I was a child and would spend time with my grandparents my Uncle Jerry would walk with me to the corner store, every night, for a chocolate sundae and a cream soda.
