The Many Businesses of Walter and Jerry

During the Depression, Walter and Jerry decided to invest in a toy store on Livernois Avenue.

The toy store became a popular record store.

As part of record promotion, Jerry and Walter were forced to mingle with celebrities like Dorothy Lamour, co-star of the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope "Road" films.

Their toy store, turned record store, became the state's first RCA television dealer.

Jerry and Walter moved to Florida in the late 1940's to run brother Emmett's fledgling Kelly Bros. Real Estate.

Perhaps the biggest deal of Kelly Bros. Real Estate involved the creation of the PGA Resort. Jerry is seen above at a function with Bob Hope and John D. MacArthur (far right) Florida's largest landholder and frequent business partner of Kelly Bros.
