Madonna Lee Finnigan was born April 22, 1941 at Little Company of Mary Hospital, Evergreen Park, Chicago, Cook, Illinois. Donna’s parents moved from Chicago to South Bend in 1947-1948 so she was raised in South Bend. She had a parochial education and graduated from St Joseph HS in South Bend, Indiana in June 1960.

On November 12, 1960 she married Charles Lester James in Holy Cross Church, South Bend. He was born in South Bend on August 24, 1941. He was raised in New Carlisle, Indiana, a small town in a rural area near South Bend.

Chuck went into the Air Force in 1961 and stayed in for eight years as an aircraft mechanic. He and Donna were in Amarillo, Texas and Goldsboro, North Carolina before coming back to South Bend. In South Bend Chuck had a series of jobs before he settled into truck driving. He retired several years ago and lives in New Carlisle with his second wife.

Donna & Russ lived in the South Bend area for a number of years and then his work took him to the St Louis area. Today they live in a gorgeous home in Wentzville, Missouri, a St Louis suburb. Donna runs the office of a small company there. Russ is in the IT department of a manufacturing company. Russ does is a computer guru and flies around the country to the various offices of the corporation representing the parent company to the various IT departments.

Donna’s children are spread around the country so she travels to visit them and they go to STL to visit her. She has thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Donna will be retiring in 2007.

Two essentials to know about Donna.

1. Yes, she married a guy who is younger than her oldest son. That takes some getting used to but we all got over it years ago. They make a great couple.

2. She loves to travel. She lives to travel. Donna has been to many countries and is only now getting to tour the US. But she is always moving; seeing new states, new cities. She probably always will.
